Ernesto Cattel, the man in charge at Costadila, has a very strict way how his wines have to be made: only wild yeasts are used, no sulphur is added at any stage, the wines are all bottle-fermented and they all have to be easy, light but flavorful and characteristic. High up in the Swiss Alps you maybe expect other things but for winemaker Julien Guillon it‘s the best place to produce his beautiful wines. The vines and parcells are so high and steep that conventional farming is impossible. But ordinary cultivation wouldn‘t be an option for Julien who treats his vineyards only by biodynamic principles. Of course they are handharvested. The combination of high altitude, love for the work and the terroir and of course the pure and honest winemaking result in fantastic juices. The wines are energetic, charming and absolutely adorable. Some are even electrifying! ;-)

We were once again on the road! This time through Alsace and Baden. We visited some really impressive people who do their work with so much passion and enthusiasm. Eye-opening was especially the high quality of all wines and the high demands they all have on themselves and their wines.
